Per-person and office-size figures are from Clear Workspace's March 2026 guide; London figures by desk count are from RubbishBids (checked October 2026). Both are operators' published prices, not independent surveys, and they group offices differently, so compare quotes on the same headcount and inventory.
What moves the price
- Headcount and the amount of furniture per person set the base price.
- IT equipment adds a per-device charge for certified data destruction and WEEE handling.
- Resale value of good furniture can reduce the price, and Clear Workspace says it can cover a small office's cost.
- Access and timing: lifts, parking, loading bays and out of hours working all add labour.
- Strip-out work, such as partitions and fitted furniture, is priced as a larger job.

Questions about office clearance
Can office furniture be sold to reduce the cost?
Often, if it is good quality and in demand. Clear Workspace says buying back furniture can reduce or even cover the cost of a small office clearance. Ask for the credit to be shown on the quote.
How long does an office clearance take?
It depends on headcount, access and lift bookings. Ask the firm for a written schedule, especially if you need the space empty by a lease end date or the work done out of hours.
