About

How this directory works

A free listing of UK skip hire and rubbish removal firms, organised by town, with direct numbers and no booking fees.

What we list

Firms based in UK towns that hire skips or take rubbish away, with plain information about what each service involves and what it usually costs. You contact the firm directly using the details on its page.

Every firm is on a waste carrier register

Carrying other people's waste needs a registration with the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, SEPA or DAERA, and a householder who hands waste to an unregistered carrier can be fined up to £600 in England if it is fly-tipped. We check each firm against the public register before it is listed, and each page says when. A firm registered only as a broker, which cannot carry waste itself, is not listed. Where a firm publishes its own registration number, the page shows it with a link to the register so you can check it yourself.

No brokers

Some skip hire websites take your booking and pass it to a local firm, adding a margin. We list the firms that own the lorries. Booking networks, national lines with no yard, and firms presenting a national operation as local are left out. National firms with a real local depot are listed, marked, and never count towards whether a town has a page.

What we do not do

  • We take no commission and sell no leads. Listing is free. Premium is an optional paid plan for firms (£12 a month plus VAT): it buys tools, a check by a person and badges, never a position.
  • Position is never for sale. Listings are ordered by how recently we checked them and how complete they are, and by nothing else.
  • We do not rank or review firms. No scores and no verdicts.
  • We do not copy ratings or reviews from other platforms.

Skip permits

Council skip permit fees on town pages come from each council's own published fees, checked on the date shown at skip permits by council. Councils change fees each April.

Fly-tipping figures

Town pages in England show the council's fly-tipping figures from Defra's Fly-tipping statistics for England, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

What the badges mean

Not yet claimed by the owner. Built from the firm's own public details and checked on the date shown, but the owner has not been in touch yet. It says nothing about the firm. Claiming is free.

Owner verified (paid check). The firm pays for Premium, which includes a check: a person confirmed with it, on the phone number or email it already publishes, that it runs this listing and that the details are current, and confirmed its waste carrier registration. The badge comes off a year later unless the check is repeated. It is not a judgement on the work.

Premium (paid plan). £12 a month plus VAT for tools: a price list by skip size and load, availability, photos of the firm's own lorries and skips, and a reply note. It is not a quality mark.

Neither paid badge changes the order listings appear in.
