Waste carrier licence: £191.02 for upper tier in England

An upper tier waste carrier registration in England costs £191.02 and must be renewed every 3 years for £130.25, while a lower tier registration is free and never needs renewing (GOV.UK, checked October 2026).

Waste carrier permits from 22 July 2027: what changes

From 22 July 2027, waste carriers, brokers and dealers in England need an environmental permit or a registered exemption instead of a registration, under regulations made on 22 July 2026 (SI 2026/873).

Digital waste tracking: carriers join in October 2027

Digital waste tracking became mandatory for permitted waste receiving sites in England and Wales on 1 October 2026, and the government plans to make it mandatory for waste carriers, brokers and dealers from October 2027 (Defra policy paper, updated 1 October 2026).

Skip permits: 73 councils only accept registered firms

73 of the 208 UK highway authorities we checked in October 2026 accept skip permit applications only from a skip company registered or approved with them, and 77 more accept them only from the skip company.

Listing on rubbishremoval.trade: free, or £12 a month

A listing on rubbishremoval.trade is free, claiming it is free, and Premium costs £12 a month (October 2026) without changing where a firm appears.

How to get listed

Send the business name, the town you are based in, a phone number, a website if you have one, your waste carrier registration number, the skip sizes or services you offer, and your yard address if you have one. We check the registration on the public register before listing. A broker-only registration is not listed.

How we decide the order

How recently we checked the listing's public details, then how complete they are. Ties go in alphabetical order. A paid plan never changes the date or the order.

Premium

Enquiries by email are free once you claim your listing. Premium, £12 a month plus VAT, adds your own price list by skip size and load, skips available this week and same-day flags, photos of your own lorries and skips, a reply note, and a yearly check by a person on your published details; the Owner verified badge appears once that check is done and does not change your position.
