Wye Valley Skips is part of Wye Valley Group, a waste recycling business based in Hereford. The group was formed in 1949 as an agricultural contractor and has since developed into the single largest waste recycling facility in Herefordshire. Andrew and Sue Howell run the business from a 35 acre recycling facility on the outskirts of Hereford, employing over 120 local staff.
Wye Valley Skips offers skip hire for all kinds of waste, including hazardous materials. The group's services also include grab hire and muck shift, asbestos clearance, scrap metal processing, scrap vehicle recycling, demolition, crushing and screening, land remediation, plant hire, self storage, soil and aggregates, and waste management. The waste management facility handles over 200,000 tonnes of waste per annum with a recycling rate of 99.9 per cent. The business is licensed to handle hazardous waste including asbestos, batteries, freezers, fridges and contaminated materials and soils.
Wye Valley Group operates locally and nationally, working for commercial clients, industrial clients, local authorities, housing developers and private individuals. The group handles national recycling contracts with companies such as Network Rail and supplies material to steelworks and foundries across the UK.
