Rainbow Skip Hire grew out of a scaffolding company run by Chris and his father, Rowland, its website says. It now operates its own waste transfer station and serves domestic, commercial and industrial customers, including schools, across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire.
About Rainbow Skip Hire
Rainbow Skip Hire, part of Rainbow Waste Management, is a skip hire and wheelie bin provider serving South Derbyshire, East Staffordshire and North West Leicestershire, with a base in Swadlincote. It welcomes both domestic and trade clients.
Chris Hill set up Rainbow Waste in 1998 with a small refuse lorry and some bins. The business later moved into skip hire from a smallholding in Linton, and in 2010 bought industrial units in Swadlincote, which allowed it to operate a waste transfer station. It now also supplies plant and machine hire, and invested in a large picking station in 2024.
Its commercial services include trade waste in bins, skips and tipping, confidential waste and site clearances, and it offers a free site audit and serves schools and businesses. The company runs its own recycling centre, and its website describes zero waste going to landfill, which it says it has achieved since 2015.
