About JJC Waste Management

JJC Waste Management, trading as JJC Hire Ltd, is a skip hire and waste management business that began in Barrow-in-Furness in 2010 with five employees and two wagons. It now has over 60 employees, a fleet of 50 vehicles and manages over 5,000 skips. It serves Barrow-in-Furness, the South Lakes, Lancaster and the Furness Peninsula for domestic, commercial and industrial customers.

Skips are available for general waste, timber, inert material, rubble, scrap metal, and asbestos and other hazardous waste in enclosed skips. The business also offers commercial bin and bag collections, waste haulage, a weighbridge, asbestos disposal, commercial road sweeping and scrap metal buying.

JJC says it recycles 97% of the waste it processes, and has installed biomass heating at its head office in Barrow-in-Furness to reduce its use of fossil fuels. Its website reports nearly 94,000 tonnes of waste processed in a year, and the business supports staff with training and development.
