About Hawes Skip Hire
Hawes Skip Hire is a family-owned waste management business based in High Wycombe. Established in 1973 by Roy and Dorothy Hawes, it provides skip hire and plant and tool rental across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Oxfordshire and Surrey. The skip hire service began when Roy Hawes identified an opportunity for skip hire in the High Wycombe area, starting with one second-hand skip lorry and ten 6 yard skips. In 1980 the business opened a plant and skip delivery depot outside High Wycombe, and in 2004 it took over a local skip hire company.
Skip sizes range from 3 cubic yard skips for smaller clearances to 40 cubic yard RoRo skips for extensive commercial projects. The business serves domestic and commercial customers. Plant and tool hire includes diggers and small tools, available for a day or longer periods.
Hawes Skip Hire moved to its current premises in Cressex Business Park in 2012. In 2018 the business completed a £3 million refurbishment of its recycling facility. Waste collected in skips is transported to the recycling centre in High Wycombe, where it is sorted and processed. Less than 1% of waste goes to landfill each month. Roy Hawes remains closely involved with the business alongside his wife Dorothy, and their four sons run the operational side of skip hire and plant and tool hire.
