About Ellgia
Ellgia is a waste management, skip hire and recycling business founded by Steve Crook in 2011, starting with one customer, one vehicle and a service office in Cambridge. The name comes from the names of his daughters, Ella and Georgia. It describes itself as a local, family-run business and serves East Anglia, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and South Yorkshire.
The business now operates over 60 HGV vehicles from four permitted locations across Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, employs more than 160 people and serves over 4,000 customers. Skips range from 3 yards to 16 yards and can be booked online for clear-outs or trade jobs.
Its commercial waste collections cover general waste, dry mixed recycling, cardboard, paper, glass, plastic, wood, plasterboard, food and green waste, along with electrical and electronic waste recycling, secure shredding and waste auditing. Customers include businesses in office, hospitality, leisure and construction settings, as well as domestic and trade customers. Ellgia works towards zero waste to landfill through its network of permitted transfer stations and processing sites.
